HONORING ALL WHO SERVED

When we were younger and were caught acting like, well, children, our parents would yell at us to practice for Armistice Day.  This was presumably a strong threat.  In other words, we needed to stifle ourselves or we would be forcibly stifled by an adult.

Now that I'm an adult myself, I often wish youngsters would continue practicing for Armistice Day.  Just simply having that thought, let alone articulating it, is a right for which I can thank a veteran.  I don't want to admit that maybe the old folks were on to something, but a little required, federally-mandated peace and quiet isn't such a bad idea at all.

To all US veterans:  Thank you.
