December started yesterday, and today is the first Sunday in
Advent. The Advent wreath is all ready,
and it's going old school: three purple and one pink candles, with the white
one in the center. I also started my
Advent calendar yesterday, and the day's assignment was to make up Christmas
songs using new and crazy words. Never
one to slink from a good Advent challenge, I thought, "Why not?" So here goes.
(Admit it - you're singing along. It's okay, so am I.)
JINGLE BELLS
Jingle bells, Santa smells -
That is so old school.
Changing words,
Like reindeer turds,
Really isn't coooool!
Jingle bells, Santa smells -
Whatcha gonna do
When you pout
And figure out
That Santa's watching YOU!
JOY TO THE WORLD
Shopping again!
The list has grown;
There is no end in sight.
Let every bad child cry,
Watch debit cards all fly,
Cash registers will ring.
You are buying everything,
And when bills come due
Your head will ping!
OH COME, ALL YE FAITHFUL
Oh come to the party
Watch everyone get drunk
And hit on the boss.
There was no bonus
CEO's all own us.
Oh come and drink the egg nog,
Stumble around in rum fog,
Watch it appear on my blog --
Office party!
