Okay, I HATE shopping. No, I mean it. I find it to be one of life's greatest tortures, especially clothes shopping, so imagine my own surprise when I decide to go shopping this morning.
I even plan the route based on the stores' opening times. Fabric/craft store; craft store #2; shoe store; book store; grocery store. Each stop goes more smoothly than the stop before it. I have coupons, birthday discounts, rewards points, and gift cards, and I think I'm doing very well with this whole shopping-though-I-hate-it experience.
Well, judge for yourself:
1. Fabric/craft store: 4 dye-able t-shirts = $8.50
2. Craft store: Random supplies; a metal and fabric foot stool = $24.00
3. Shoe store: Workout shoes = $5.97
4. Book store: two paperbacks = $0.00
All this, plus I go grocery shopping in a store that is mostly unfamiliar to me, don't overspend, and buy two bottles of wine right there near the check-out lane (because you can do that in New Hampshire).
I may HATE shopping, but today's loot is pretty impressive even by my cheapo New England standards. I am reasonably pleased when I arrive back home before noontime, missions all accomplished.
