It's not just any old Pi Day, though. The first digits of Pi are 3.1415, and math geeks all over the world have waited for this day. Saturday is 3/14/15. It's not just Pi Day, it's Pi Day.
In honor of the greatest Pi Day in a thousand years, I accompany my friends to an Irish pub.
Yes, the pub glasses are round, and yes, the table is round, but the real reason we are at the pub on Pi Day is for the Irish Shepherd's Pie. Since we are on the road for lacrosse, we have to improvise. Pie for Pi.
In the end, my Irish Shepherd's pie is oval (not circular), and Pi Day passes. No parade. No pomp. No circumstance.
Except for the math geeks. They're totally still eating pi.
